Whitesboro Godley - Funeral services for Donald Dale Spencer, 84, of Godley, Texas, were held Friday, July 22, 2016, with interment in Oakwood Cemetery, Whitesboro, Texas. He passed away July 17, 2016 at Burleson, Texas. He was born to Albert Robert and Gladys Ivy (McKenzie) Spencer August 4, 1931 at Delaware Bend, Texas. As a young boy he took any odd job he could find in the early 1950s; he started building residential houses in Ft. Worth and in the late 1960s built nursing homes in Mineral Wells and throughout Texas, Mississippi, and Arkansas. Before his death, he built, owned and operated Royal Manor Health Center and Royal Manor II in Waco, Texas. He was a Master Mason and a member of Ridglea Lodge #134. In 1996 he relocated to Godley, Texas, starting a cattle ranch. He is survived by sons, Scott Spencer of Godley, and Gary Underwood and wife, Linda, of Weatherford, Texas; daughter, Vicki Randall and husband, Charles, of Weatherford; 9 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews; brothers, Larry Riddle and wife, Carol, of Denison and J.W. Spencer of Plano; sisters, Sue Alcorn and husband, Mickey, of Pattonville, Texas; and Glenda Manning and husband, Ron, of Alexander City, Alabama.
