Funeral services were held Thursday from the Richards-Beck funeral home in Whitesboro, conducted by Rev. A.T. Mays, pastor of the Whitesboro Methodist church. Interment was in the Whitesboro cemetery. Pallbearers were Lee Huff, Dr. W.R. Younger, F.A. Bass, Hannie Watson, Paul Koontz and N.E. Judd. Mr. Acree was born October 7, 1894 in Whitesboro, son of Mr. and Mrs. G.G. Acree. He was chief petty officer in the Navy. He was an electrician on the President's private yacht for several years. He had been in the Navy 30 years, was retired in 1939 and recalled in 1941. He had been in failing health since 1941. He is survived by his mother, Mrs. G.G. Acree of Dallas.
