SPURGEON STEED DIES
Brother of Judge Dayton B. Steed After Brief Illness at Whitesboro

News comes from Whitesboro that Spurgeon Steed, brother of County Judge Dayton B. Steed, died there shortly after the arrival of his brother at his bedside.
Funeral services were held there this morning at 10 o'clock and burial was in the cemetery at that place.
Mr. Steed came to Whitesboro from Caneville, Arkansas, last week to participate in a reunion of his sisters and brother, all of whom met at the home of a sister, Mrs. A.F. Jones of Whitesboro.  He was not in the best of health, but no one thought for a moment that the end was so near.  After the reunion he seemed to collapse and grew rapidly worse until the end came.
He is survived by his wife and 15-year-old son; and his sisters and brothers are: Judge Dayton B. Steed of Sherman; Mrs. A.F. Jones of Whitesboro; Mrs. E.R. Ballard of Cooke county; Mrs. T.A. Cunningham of Comanche county; Mrs. Holmes Akers of Ardmore; and Mrs. J.G. Fox of Mercedes.
