Gainesville - Funeral services for Avanell (Ragsdale) Beene, 83, were held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, May 7, 2013 with Deacon Danny Laws officiating. Interment was in Oakwood Cemetery in Whitesboro. Mrs. Beene died May 4, 2013 in Gainesville.
She was born in Delaware Bend community to Doss and Pearl (Phelps) Ragsdale; she married Bill Beane on November 29, 1947. She was a nurse for over 20 years and a member of the Bowie Seventh Day Adventist Church.
Survivors include three sons and daughters-in-law: Butch Beane and wife, Theresa, of Gainesville; Joe Lynn Bean and wife, Jacqueline, of Port Orange, Florida; Hoot Beane and wife, Sherrie, of Gainesville; grandchildren: Patrick Beane and wife, Michelle, of Roswell, New Mexico; Toby Beane and wife, Becki, of Gainesville; Dr. Randall Beane and wife, Ashley, of Washington, D.C.; Lori Woodard and husband, Cory, of Lindsay; and Cory Beane of Gainesville; great-grandchildren: Katie Beane of Gainesville; Cheyenne Woodard of Lindsay; Seth Beane of Gainesville and Ender Beane of Washington, D.C.; brother, Buck Ragsdale of Aubrey and a dear friend, Jeanne Sadau of Gainesville.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, infant son Billy Don Beane; five brothers and sisters. - - - Meador Funeral Home.
