Friday, April 7, 1950 pg. 8 Funeral services for Mrs. Emma Meades, 91, of 722 W. Owing, who died in a local hospital last Monday, were held Friday at Bratcher-Moore chapel with Rev. Edward Bayless officiating and interment in a Whitesboro cemetery with Bratcher-Moore in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Meades had been ill 3 weeks. She was born in Breeze, Illinois, January 1, 1859, daughter of Mr.and Mrs. Adam F. Hornbeck. She was educated in Ursuline Convent, Litchfield, Illinois, and was married here to the late Charles W. Meades in 1898. Mr. Meades died in 1912, She was a member of the Presbyterian church. Before coming to Denison Mr, and Mrs. Meades lived at Double Springs, Indian Territory, where he operated a general merchandise store and was postmaster there. Later they moved to Platter where he operated the same kind of store, and he served as postmaster. She is survived by a half-brother, I.D. Miller of Dallas; and several nieces and nephews, including Fred Hornbeck of Denison and Adam Hornbeck of Shawnee, Oklahoma.
