Holt, 90, of Whitesboto, passed away Sunday, January 3, 2016 at The
Homestead in Sherman. He was born December 23, 1925 in
Whitesboro, son of Henry Holt and Mary Isabelle Morris. He and
Myra Lucille Reeves were married for53 years He retired from Southwestern Bell Telephone Co. after 37 years of service. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church where he served on the Board of the Presbyterian Children's Home in Waxahachie. He also served on the Whitesboro School Board for 18 years, as well as being a member of the Booster Club. James is survived by son, James Holt and wife, Sandra, of Frisco; son by choice, Lewis Cavin of Whitesboro; grandchildren, Chris Nunnally of Whitesboro; Dr. Stacey Nunnally Polasek and husband, Aaron, of Katy; Kaylee Gendich and husband, Roland, of Roanoke; Shelby Holt of Princeton; Jaimie Holt of Stillwater, Oklahoma; and Jacob Holt of Frisco; two great-grandchildren; special niece, Yvonne Mills of Whitesboro; sisters-in-law, Angeline Holt of Austin and Faye Holt of Ft. Worth. He was preceded in death by his parents and wife. Funeral services were held Thursday, January 7, 2016 at First Presbyterian Church with interment in Oakwood Cemetery, Rev. Wayne Bryan officiating, assisted by Rev.
