Whitesboro - Services for Verna Ellen Fielder, 85-year-old Whitesboro resident who died Saturday in a Sherman hospital, were held Tuesday at Huff Funeral Chapel, with Rev. Don Westbrook of Gainesville officiating. Burial was in Oakwood Cemetery, Whitesboro.
Mrs. Fielder was born in Brown County, daughter of Joseph William Quirl and Martha Azzlee Chesser. She married Ben David Fielder in Grayson County in 1920. She was a member of the Holiness Church of Jesus Christ.
Surviving are daughters, Almeda Goode and Jackie Holt, both of Gainesville and Janelle Adams of Whitesboro; stepson, Vester Fielder of Sherman; sisters, Lora Teague and Mrs. J.C. Westbrook of Whitesboro; 12 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
Grandsons served as pallbearers.
