The Gainesville Register Thursday, June 21, 1979 Services fo Herschel Davis, 80, of Gainesville were held today in the Hillcrest Church of Christ. J.T. Martin and Jay Channell officiated, followed by burial in Oakwood Cemetery, directed by Vernie Keel Funeral Home. Davis died Wednesday night in Gainesville Memorial Hospital. He was a retired cotton ginner and was a member of the Hillcrest Church of Christ. He had resided in Gainesville since 1966. Survivors are his wife, Georgia; one son, Lucian; one sister; one granddaughter and one great-granddaughter.  Itaska Davis 28 September 1919 - 26 June 1994 H.A.
