Graveside services for Julia Rae Blake, 84, of Houston, Texas were held Saturday morning, January 12, 2019 at Oakwood Cemetery, officiated by Rev. Rick Carney. Julia passed on into her eternal life Sunday, January 6, 2019 in Huntsville, Texas.
She was born June 10, 1934 in Dexter, Texas, daughter of Everett Leo "Bill" and Bonnie Gene Smallwood Hall. She married Edsil Eugene Blake and together they began a love story that included raising 5 children. Julia enjoyed gardening, interior designing, genealogy and her cat, Dexter, but she truly loved and adored her children and grandchildren.
Julia is survived by her son, Robert Eugene Blake and spouse, Jack Wade Cox, of Eugene, Oregon; son, James Thomas Blake and wife, Julia, of Macon, Georgia; daughter, Barbara Jean Kent and husband, Larry, of Huntsville, Texas; son, Roger Dale Blake and wife, Laura, of Houston, Texas; grandchildren, Joshua Matthew Blake; Dillon Jacob Cox; Frankie Bellaflores; Christina Blake; James Thomas Blake, II; Karolyn Denise Kent; Blake Everette Kent; and Julia Almeida; great-grandchildren, Tyler, Tyrone, Tyra and Tyleigh.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and son, Edsil Ray Blake.
