"Ray" Tamplen, 52, died Tuesday at his home after a long illness. Tamplen was born July 2, 1927 in Richmond. He had been a truck driver for 33 years with no accidents on his record. He married Grace McKenzie October 2, 1971 in Oklahoma. Survivors are his wife; sons, Jackie and Timmy Tamplen; daughters, Kathy Wilhoit and Ann Lewelling; parents, Helen Tamplen and Jack Tamplen; brother, James Tamplen; sister, Doris Hood; and 2 grandchildren.
