Whitesboro Charles Emry West 3 August 1883 - 24 June 1964 Bertha Stalcup West 24 October 1888 - 26 June 1975 Whitesboro News Record June 26, 1964 pg. 2 Sudden illness caused the death early Wednesday morning of Charles Emory [sic] West, 80, who lived on a farm on Whitesboro Route 4. Mr. West became ill Tuesday afternoon and was taken to a Sherman hospital. His condition became rapidly worse and he died at 2 o'clock the next morning. He was a member of the Westview Methodist Church. Mr. West was born August 3, 1883 in east Cooke County, Texas, son of Mr. and Mrs. George West. He was married to Miss Bertha Stalcup on July 1, 1905 in Whitesboro, who survives him. Other survivors include 3 sons, George D. West of Gainesville, Chas. E. West, Jr. of Tacoma, Washington, and Dave S. West of McKinney; and 4 daughters, Mrs. Maedeyl Brackin and Mrs. Beatrice Watson of Whitesboro; Mrs. Alene Allen of Dallas; and Mrs. Nelva Louise Gilmore of Columbia, Missouri. He is also survived by 24 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. Whitesboro News Record July 2, 1975 pg. 10 Rites were conducted for Mrs. Bertha West, 87, Sunday at Richards Chapel. She died Thursday morning at the Hilltop Convalescent Center from an extended illness. Rev. Richards Maylor conducted the services. Grandsons were pallbearers. Interment was at the Whitesboro Cemetery under the direction of Richards Funeral Home. Mrs. West was born October 24, 1887 [sic] in Cooke County, Texas, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Dave Stalcup. She married Charles Emory [sic] West on July 2, 1905 [sic]. Mrs. West was a member of the Westview Methodist Church. Survivors include sons, George D. West of Gainesville, Chas. E. West, Jr. of Tacoma, Washington, and Dave S. Ray Stice 1908 - 1987 Clarinette West Stice 1909 - 1961 Whitesboro News Record June 30, 1961 pg. 1 Graveside services were held in the Whitesboro Cemetery for Mrs. J.R. Stice of Garland Saturday afternoon, June 17, 1961. Mrs. Stice passed away in Southern Methodist Hospital in Dallas after a long illness. Services were held at the First Methodist Church of Garland, conducted by Rev. Thomas E. Hardy of McKinney and Rev. Barren of Garland. Arrangements were under the direction of Williams Funeral Home of Garland, assisted by Richards-Beck Funeral Home of Whitesboro. Mrs. Stice was a graduate of Whitesboro High School and attended North Texas State College. On August 6, 1932 she married J.R. Stice in the Gainesville Methodist Church. Survivors include her husband; one son, Donald Ray Stice; and one daughter, Glenda Stice, both of Garland; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. C.E. West of Whitesboro; 3 brothers, George West of Gainesville; Charles West of Tacoma, Washington; and Dave West of McKinney; 4 sisters....
