Services for Pauline Allen Steed, 94, of Longview were scheduled for Saturday afternoon, May 28, 2011 in the chapel of Welch Funeral Home, 4619 Judson Road with Rev. Scott Schulik officiating. Interment was in Whitesboro Cemetery in Grayson County. Mrs. Steed died on Tuesday, May 24, 2011 at a local medical center.
Mrs. Steed was born December 31, 1916 in Cleveland, daughter of Robert and Myrtie Burrows Allen. She was a member of Mobberly Baptist Church.
Mrs. Steed was preceded in death by her husbands, Raymond Thornton and Clarence Steed; sisters, Audrey Knox and Billie Hawk; and brothers, Stanley Allen and Douglas Allen.
Survivors include her sons and daughters-in-law, Bobby and Earlene Thornton of Longivew; Douglas and Sherry Thornton of Tyler; stepdaughter, Fay Rasberry of Denison; grandchildren: Lori Allen, Jason Thornton, Carrol Frahm, Robert Thornton, and James Thornton; 4 great-grandchildren; sister, Anne Murphy of Shreveport, Louisiana; and numerous nieces and nephews.
