Boyd Sawyer officiating. Service arrangements were under the direction of Meador Funeral Home in Whitesboro. She passed away Friday, April 18, 2014 in Gainesville, Texas. She is survived by her children: Jackie Van Bevers of Mesquite; Danny Smith of Watauga; Jimmy Smith of Benbrook; Larry Smith of Whitesboro; and Annette Workman of Gainesville; 14 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great-grandchildren. Shirley was born April 9, 1924 in the Barron community near Tioga, Grayson County, Texas, daughter of Oscar A, and Ruth Worsham Midgett. She married Edgar Jack Smith in Grayson County. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Whitesboro. She enjoyed a lengthy retirement after having been employed as a seamstress at Lovejoy's Sewing Room and Malouf's Garment Factory.
