Whitesboro Billy Mack Underwood, 88, passed away at his home in Mesquite Texas on April 12, 2018. He was born on December 17, 1929 in Clairemont, Texas to Bill and Doris Brown Underwood. Bill served in the Korean War for the Army from March 1951 to April 1953. On July 16, 1961 he married Carolyn Clark George. They moved to Dallas in 1963. At that time he started working for the Dallas Times Herald. In April 1973 he had a daughter. In the 1980s he became a realtor and started his own company, Realty World Associates. Bill was a Master Mason for over 60 years, also a member of the Shriners International (Hella Temple) and a member of the American Legion. For over 40 years a member of the Shiloh Terrach Baptist Church in Dallas. He loved old Western movies, music and working on his garden. Family played a big role in his life. Bill is preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Marcus Underwood and Ned Underwood; and a sister, Helen Crouse; and his son, Randy Underwood. He is survived by his wife and daughter, Suzanne Underwood. Bill has a sister-in-law, Polly Underwood, of Waco, Texas; three nieces and three nephews, Barbara and her husband, Fred Morris, of Eugene, Oregon; Lisa and her husband, Eddie Berryhill, of Forney, Texas; Pam Gibson of Waco, Texas; Max Underwood and his wife, Debbie, of Colleyville, Texas; Jack Crouse and wife, Kathy of Montgomery, Texas; Ricky Crouse of Snyder, Texas. Funeral service arrangements were under the direction of Meador Funeral Home in Whitesboro. Funeral services were held Tuesday, April 17 at the Meador Funeral Home Chapel, officiated by Chaplain Kelly Chadwick. interment followed the services at Oakwood Cemetery in Whitesboro.
