Whitesboro James Paul Moore 21 June 1938 - 4 May 2010 Ervin Vandiver Moore 16 March 1930 - 2 April 2007
The Oklahoman April 3, 2007 Ervin Vandiver Moore of Edmond, Oklahoma was born northwest of Whitesboro, Texas on March 16, 1930 and passed away April 2, 2007. He was the son of Ervin Pink Moore and Vernez Hazalle Shook Moore. He was salutatorian of the 1947 graduating class of Whitesboro High School. After high school, he was an assistant manaer of an auto dealership from 1948 to 1956, excluding time served in the U.S. Army from 1951 to 1953 as a Chaplain Assistant. Vandiver also worked with the Department of Labor for 25 years serving Dallas, Sherman, Tulsa, and Oklahoma City. He was on the faculty of the National Teaching Staff and taught trainees all over the U.S. He received many awards for outstanding performance including "Distinguished Career Service Award" with the Department of Labor in 1977. He was a Southern Baptist. He is survived by his brother, James Paul Moore of Collinsville, Texas; step-son, Tommy Gene Ivy and wife, Alice, of Texas; a very deat and special friend, Billy Gene McKay of the home; step-nieces, step-nephews and cousins including a very special cousin, Maudie Mae Moore Weaver of Whitesboro, Texas. Funeral service was at Huff Funeral Home Thursday, April 5, 2007 in Whitesboro, Texas with interment following at Oakwood Cemetery.
