Services for Margaret Martin, 98, of Crosbyton were held Thursday April 15, 2010 at Crosbyton First Baptist Church, with Rev. Lester Griffin officiating. Burial followed on Friday, April 16, 2010 at Oakwood Cemetery in Whitesboro, Texas under the direction of Adams Funeral Home of Crosbyton.
Margaret passed away on April 12, 2010 at Crosbyton Hospital. She was born March 18, 1912 in Medford, Oregon to the late Count Pulaski and Lucy Robertson Pulaski. On March 4, 1935 she married Earl Columbus Martin in Gainesville, Texas. Margaret and Earl moved to Crosby County in 1935 to begin farming. They owned and operated Martin Grocery Store in Cone from 1951 - 1970 and during that time, she worked as postmaster of the Cone Post Office for a few years. She was also a nurse at Crosbyton Clinic Hospital for 20 years. Margaret and Earl moved to Crosbyton in 1984 from Cone.
She is preceded in death by her husband and a son, Roger Dale "Danny" Martin.
Survivors include 2 daughters, Peggy Dyess of Lubbock and Patricia Capps of Dallas; 6 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
