Whitesboro Era Mae McClung 29 August 1938 - 7 January 2015 The Herald Democrat January 8, 2015 Sherman - Funeral services for Era Mae McClung, 76, were held Saturday, January 10, 2015 in the Meador Funeral Home Chapel in Whitesboro with Bro. Allen Phillips officiating. Interment followed the service at Oakwood Cemetery in Whitesboro. She died January 7, 2015 in Sherman, Texas. Era was born August 29, 1938 in Dallas, daughter of Edward Lewis and Era Bernice Dry Smith. She was a member of the Assembly of God church. She was a retired caregiver. She is survived by children, Lexton McClung and wife, Victoria, of Sherman; Mark McClung and wife, Rene, of Azle; Rheba Davis and husband, Raymond, of Whitewboro; Tammy Hager and husband, Bud, of Ft. Worth; Kelly Grimes and husband, Johney, of Whitesboro; 15 grandchildren and16 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Dora Vickers of Ore City; Ouida Yaws of Jefferson; and Lela Fay Daniels of Roswell, New Mexico; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Hilluard McClung; son, Joe McClung; parents; sister, Earlyne Baldine; brothers, James Edward Smith and Charles Smith; sisters, Zelmarie Chapman and LaVoyce Wilson. Members of the family served as pallbearers.
