Whitesboro - Funeral services for Scott Melton, 48, were held September 10 at Meador Funeral Home Chapel in Whitesboro with Rev. Joe Patterson officiating. Masonic graveside rites followed the service at Oakwood Cemetery. Pallbearers were Terry Sharber, Redgy Ramsey, Billy Schares, Kelly Perry, Johnny Newsome, and Bill Murphy.
He passed away at home on September 6, 2011.
Scott Melton was born December 13, 1962 to Royce B. and Linda Tolleson Melton in Sherman, Texas. He married Cynthia Darlene Ludlam December 6, 1986 in Gainesville. He was a member of Central Baptist Church of Whitesboro, Whitesboro Masonic Lodge #263 A.F. & A.M. He loved golf, taking care of his cattle, his Ford truck, his cat and E-Z Mart Cokes. As a teenager he enjoyed coon hunting. He enjoyed sponsoring FFA shows and high school football. He worked at Peterbilt for 31 years.
He is survived by his wife; sons, Kyle Melton of Denton and Tyler Melton of Whitesboro; parents; sisters, Paige Whitecotton and husband, Dale, of McKinney; Holly Burns and husband, Paul, of Sherman; and mother-in-law, Dorothy Ludlam of Whitesboro; numerous nieces, nephews, friends and family.
