Faye Mackoy Melton, 76, passed away July 3, 2010. She was born in
Frisco, Texas September 18, 1933 to Walter and Cleo Crombie Mackoy.
Her family moved to Whitesboro, Texas when she was two years old.
She graduated from Whitesboro High School in 1951. She
marrid James Edward Melton on December 5, 1952 in Whitesboro.
They moved to Abilene, Texas in 1954 and lived in various towns
in west Texas and New Mexico until moving to Dallas in 1961. They
made their final home in Carrollton, Texas, where they lived until
James' death in 2000.
She worked as a phone operator, secretary, saleswoman and accounting clerk throughout her lifetime. After he husband's death, she moved to Yukon, Oklahoma to live with her daughter and family in 2004. She was a member of South Yukon Church of Christ. Volunteering at her church was the highlight of her life. Church lunch was her favorite. She cooked and served lunch on Fridays to Yukon High School students at the church. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband of 47 years. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Rick and Lonita Melton, of The Colony, Texas; her daughter and son-in-law, Tammy and Larry Hinton, and three grandchildren, James Carifee, Samantha Hinton and Michelle Hinton, all of Yukon, Oklahoma; her sister and brother-in-law, Pat and Bill Wallis of Dallas; and many other relatives in Texas, New Mexico and Colorado. Funeral services were held Tuesday, July 6, at South Yukon Church of Christ with burial Wednesday, July 7 in Whitesboro, Texas.
