services for L.C. "Pete" Meek, 89, of Whitesboro were held at the First
United Methodist Church in Whitesboro Friday, October 21, 2016 with
Rev. Doyle Henderson officiating. He passed away October 19, 2016
at The Seasons of the Renaissance in Sherman. He was born to John H. and Hattie Pace Meek on May 15, 1927 in Dexter, Texas. He married Shirley Hargesheimer on June 21, 1980 in Whitesboro. Pete was a member of First United Methodist Church of Whitesboro where he was very active in the United Methodist Men and a member of the Asbury Sunday School Class, Meals on Wheels, the lunch program for children sponsored by the First United Methodist Church of Whitesboro, and he was a member of the Woodman's of the World. He was retired from Johnson & Johnson and Line Materials. For 10 years he was a custodian at Whitesboro ISD, having served in the U.S. Army for two years. He was a member of the Grayson Co. Retired Teachers Association. Pete is survived by his brother, David Meek and wife, Roberta, of Sherman; sisters, Mildred Gardner of Washington state; Iva Meek and Dora Chandler of Ft. Worth; brother-in-law, Bob Hargesheimer and wife, Betty, of Whitesboro; and brother-in-law, Don Hargesheimer of Whitesboro; and numerous nieces and nephews.
