Robert was born in Whitesboro on November 16, 1945. He grew up in Whitesboro and was a 1964 graduate of Whitesboro High School. He spent his life working in sales, a field in which he excelled. He enjoyed spending his leisure time with his family and friends, traveling, fishing and hunting. He is survived by his parents, Bob and Joretta Garvin, of Tyler; wife, Ginger Garvin, of Whitesboro; son, Kevin and wife, Renee, of Katy; daughter, Gina Garvin, of Whitesboro; grandsons, Grant Garvin of Ft. Worth; Riley Stricker of Whitesboro; and Connor Hastcoat of McKinney; sister, Becky Adams; nephew and nieces, John, Dena, Ali and Erin Culpepper, all of Emerald Bay in Bullard, Texas. Robert will be lovingly remembered by family and friends alike as someone who always thought of others first. Many times he would notice someone elderly in a grocery line who didn't have enough money, and he would take care of them. He might see someone with car trouble on the side of the road, and he would stop and help since he could repair most any make and model. Robert listened more than he spoke, but when he did speak it was with wit, wisdom, and possibly even an inappropriate joke. He may have lost his balance, but he never lost his sense of humor. Arrangements were under the direction of Waldo Funeral Home. Due to the restrictions because of COVID 19, there was only a private graveside service for immediate family only. Pallbearers were Kevin Garvin, Grant Garvin, Riley Sticker, Connor Hastcoat, John Culpepper, and Kevin Hastcoat. Remembrances of Robert may be in the form of donations to either the Whitesboro Public Library or the Parkinson's Foundation. - - - Waldo Funeral Home Oakwood Cemetery Elaine Nall Bay ©2020 If you find any of Grayson County TXGenWeb links inoperable, please send me a message |
