Geneva Jackson 1935 - 2009 The Herald Democrat August 18, 2009 Sherman - Services for Geneva A. Jackson, 82-year-old Sherman resident, will be held at noon Thursday, Aug. 20 at Harmony Baptist Church in Sherman. Mrs. Jackson passed away Wednesday, Aug. 12, 2009 at her home. Rev. Craig Davis Sr., pastor of Progressive Baptist Church in Sherman, will officiate followed by b urial at Whiterock Cemetery. Mrs. Jackson was born on July 8, 1927, in Independent Springs, the daughter of Rex and Stella Gibson. She was a graduate of Fred Douglass High School. She married Roy Jackson on Feb. 12, 1948 in Sherman and he preceded her in death. She was a faithful and dedicated member of Progressive Baptist Church where she was baptized in 1947. She was formerly secretary of the church, member of the choir, the Mission and BTU and co-chair of the Food Service Committee. She was an active member of the Sherman NAACP, Optimist Concerned Citizens and Federated Choirs. She is survived by her sons, Joe Jackson of Hemet, Calif., Roy Jackson Jr., Ronald W. Jackson and W.D. Jackson, all of Sherman; daughters, LaCreese Whitson of Carrollton, and TaJuana Craddock of Sherman; brothers, Clifford Bryant (Connie) of Sherman; sisters, Theresa Campbell of Sherman and Ruth Marie Taylor (Raymond) of San Diego, Calif.; 13 grandchildren and a host of great and great-great-grandchildren. Angelic Mortuary in Sherman has charge of the arrangements.
