Stephen M. Langford 1859 - 1954 Eliza G. Langford 1857 - 1925 The Whitewright Sun Thursday, December 24, 1925 pg.1 Mrs. Eliza Langford, 68 years old, wife of Steve Langford, died at her home in the Rose Hill community at 1:45 o'clock Monday afternoon. Mrs. Langford sustained a broken hip in a fall at her home a week prior to her death. This injury, with other complications, brought on the fatal illness to which she succumbed at the hour stated. She is survived by her husband and the following children, all of whom reside in the Rose Hill and Tom Bean communities: Ben, Virgil and Ott Langford; Mrs. Ola Moran and Miss Alma Langford. Mrs. Moran was in San Angelo on a temporary sojourn for the benefit of her healt at the time of her mother's death, but funeral services were withheld until her arrival. The deceased was a sister of J.H. Biggerstaff of this city and Mrs. M.M. Swearingin of near Bonham. Mrs. Langford was a native Texan and a pioneer resident of the Tom Bean community. She had been a member of the Tom Bean Christian Church for 50 years. The funeral services were held at the church in which she held membership late Tuesday afternoon, conducted by Elder Blanchett of Dallas. Burial followed in the community cemetery. The family are among the substantial residents and home owners of the community in which they have long resided, and the deceased woman gave a full measure of her time and service to her home, community and church in the discharge of obligations which she recognized and assumed in that connection.
