The Whitewright Sun Thursday, January 23, 1941 pg. 5 Funeral services were held Tuesday morning for Mrs. J.W. Johnson, 66, who died at Wilson N. Jones Hospital in Sherman Monday after four weeks illness. She was the widow of J.W. Johnson, former Tom Bean merchant, who was killed in an automobile accident October 23, 1938. Dr. A.R. Holton, Sherman Church of Christ minister, conducted the rites at the home in Tom Bean and burial followed in Whitemound Cemetery. Pallbearers were C.H. Lackey, Ed Pennell, Bela Morgan, G.D. Lackey, T.J. Miller, Lowell Miller, P.H. Luby, and E.G. Johnson. Mrs. Johnson was born in Tom Bean September 28, 1874, a daughter of Tom and Elizabeth Miller. She lived in that community all of her life and was married to Mr. Johnson December 29, 1897. Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Howard Hestand of Sherman, Mrs. Cannon George of Howe, and Miss Lillian Johnson, who teaches at Wichita Falls; a son, J.W.
