Nadine Hollensed 14 August 1927 - 13 June 2013 Jack W. Hollensed 19 January 1927 - 1 April 2008 Nadine Hollensed of Tom Bean, Texas, 93, passed away peacefully to be with the Lord on Sunday morning, June 13, 2021. She was born August 14, 1927 in Grayson County, Texas, the 7th of 9 children born to Lee Lumpkin England and Cynthia Caroline "Callie" Bradshaw. Her family moved from farm to farm near Van Alstyne, Howe, and Tom Bean during and after the Great Depression. Nadine attended the old Celtic school and later attended and graduated from Tom Bean schools. She gave her life to Jesus at a young age and was baptized in a creek in the countryside near Van Alstyne. Nadine married Jack William Hollensed on February 7, 1948. They were married for 60 years until he preceded her in death. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Tom Bean for nearly 50 years. Nadine worked for many years as a teller at the First National Bank of Tom Bean, and then worked as the tax assessor/collector and bookkeeper for Tom Bean ISD until her retirement in 1990. Always an active person, Nadine continued to work part-time in the hospitality industry for many more years. Nadine was an extremely selfless person, always caring for others before herself. Known as a great cook, her fudge and chicken fried steak were frequently requested by family and friends alike. And she often took meals to those in need. In later years she opened her home to her beloved brother, Archie, and later her nephew, Donald, delighting in the time they were able to spend together. Living on the family farm, Nadine treasured her family and took great joy in all her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved talking with her sweet sisters, whom she adored. She always loved her Tom Bean Tomcats, watching football (and almost any sport), beating all her family at dominoes, and providing a loving home to stray dogs and cats of all kinds. Nadine was preceded by her husband; parents; great-granddaughter, Allie Reese Macrum; siblings, Boyd England; Kathleen Spencer and husband, Charles; L.B. England and wife, Daisy; Archie England and wife, Elaine; Lurline Walker and husband, Dick; Joyce Lange and husband, Johnny; brothers-in-law, Murrell Wood and James Gaston.
