Bradley Hollensed 1876 - 1970 Mollie Hollensed 1878 - 1962 The Whitewright Sun Thursday, February 12, 1970 pg. 7 Services were held Thursday at the Tom Bean Baptist Church for James B. Hollensed, 93, lifelong resident of Grayson County, who died at Denver City, Texas, Monday. Services were conducted by Rev. Tommy Pesnell, pastor of the Tom Bean First Baptist Church and Rev. Thomas H. McSpedden, Baptist minister of Frisco. Burial was at the Whitemound Cemetery under the direction of Waldo Funeral Home. Mr. Hollensed was born October 20, 1876 in Mississippi and came to Grayson County when a young man, settling in the Tom Bean area where he had been a farmer most of his life. He was married to the former Miss Mollie Gwyn on May 5, 1904 at Whitewright. She died in 1962. He was the senior deacon of the Tom Bean First Baptist Church when he moved to Hobbs, New Mexico seven years ago to make his home with a daughter. Survivors are one son, W.M. "Buster, Hollensed of Tom Bean; one daughter, Mrs. Ralph Nason of Hobbs, New Mexico; 4 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers were Burl Shields, Alvie Casada, A.S. Luby, C.S. Teague, Tommy Stephens and Lewis Nash. The body arrived in Sherman and lay in state until funeral time Thursday. J.L.
