  Shirley Ann Harris 24 February 1947 - 24 September 2018 Alan Dale Harris 31 August 1944 - 21 April 2008 wed 15 March 1963  Shirley Ann Cheek Harris, 71, died Monday, September 24, 2018 in Sherman, Texas. Shirley was born February 24, 1947 in Pittsburg, Texas to Sidney and Vegia Cheek. She was the youngest of 8 children; when she was young the family moved to McKinney, Texas, where she grew up. She met the love of her life, Alan, on a blind date December 31, 1962. They were married on March 15, 1963 and had 4 children, Jeri, Robert, Kathie and Brenda. Shirley and Alan moved to Sherman in 1991 where they loved and touched many lives, including and especially Bobby Fillbeck, his wife Thersa and their children. Shirley had 12 grandchildren: Jason, Fielder (Amber), Jennifer (J.J.) Bobby (Hannah), Hunter (Melissa), Chandler, Kyle, Taylor, Jayla (Kyle), Chelsey (Riley), Jessica, and Lacey. She had 11 great-grandchildren. Shirley was preceded in death by her husband; precious grandson, Jason; precious granddaughters, Jessica and Lacey; her parents; and siblings, Elbert, Johnny, Sidney, Fred and Sarah. She is survived by her daughter, Jeri and husband, Tony Benedict, of Sherman; son Robert Harris and wife, Pam, of Denison; daughter, Kathie and husband, Craig Maxwell, of Sherman; daughter, Brenda and husband, Reese Reynolds, of Bowie, Texas; her grandchildren; great-grandchildren; brothers, William (Judy) and Albert (Cathy) and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. Graveside services were held Thursday afternoon, September 27, 2018 at White Mound Cemetery. Services were under the direction of Waldo Funeral Home in Sherman.
