Services for Jack Fielder Harris of Tom Bean, 51 year old project manager for Young Enterprises, who died Thursday in a Sherman hospital, will be held at 2 pm Monday in the Waldo Funeral Home Chapel.
AC Quinn of Tom Bean Church of Christ will officiate, and military graveside honors will be held at the Whitemound Cemetery near Tom Bean.
Mr. Harris was born in Howe, the son of Fielder Page and Jewel Williams Harris, and married Ann Widemann on May 4, 1957 in Germany. He graduated from Tom Bean High School in 1953 and received a bachelor's degree in Business Administration and Social Science from Coker College while serving in the US Army in South Carolina. He retired from the Army as a Major in 1974 after 20 years of service. He served in Korea, Laos and Vietnam.
Mr. Harris had worked in the Accounting Department at Oscar Mayer for seven years and at Young Enterprises for two years. He was a member of the Sherman Elks Lodge No. 2280 and a member of the Luella Baptist Church.
Surviving are his wife Ann; sons, Larry W. Harris of Arizona and John Harris of Luella; daughter, Susie Burchfield of Howe; mother, (Jewel Harris) of Sherman; brothers, Jerry Harris of Tom Bean, Dan Harris of Luella, Alan Harris of Bowie and Phillip Harris of New Braunfels; sister, Brenda Scales of Garland; and five grandchildren.
The family will be at the funeral home from 4-6 pm Sunday and other times at the Jerry Harris residence in Tom Bean.
