  Paul R. Jones 1937 - 1997 Aleta Smith Jones 3 June 1940 - 24 April 2013  Funeral services for Aleta Jones, age 72 of Gunter, Texas will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, April 27, 2013 at the First Baptist Church in Gunter. Rev. Jack Newton will officiate. Burial will follow at Whitaker Cemetery in Gunter. The family will receive friends Friday from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Scoggins Funeral Home in Van Alstyne. Aleta passed away Wednesday, April 24, 2013 at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital-WNJ in Sherman. She was born June 3, 1940 in Oklahoma to Carl and Birdie Beavers Smith. Aleta served as a Substitute Teacher, was a Home Maker and a longtime member of the First Baptist Church in Gunter. She is survived by her sisters; Regena Peebles and Maudie Dycus both of Gunter. Nieces; Shirley Hackler, Sharon Bennett, Mitzi Smith, Shelia Morton and Marla Davis. Nephews; Edwin Rivers, Darrell Dycus, Tony Dycus, Richey Peebles and Roy Lee Smith. Aleta was preceded in death by her parents, husband Paul Jones and her son Donnie Jones. Her brother; R.L. Smith and a Sister; Dorothy Smith. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society. Services are under the direction of Scoggins Funeral Home 637 W Van Alstyne Parkway, Van Alstyne, Texas.  Dan R.
