Bobby Dillard Hackler, 83, of Gunter, Texas passed away peacefully in his sleep and went to see his Heavenly Father on Saturday, November 28, 2020. The funeral service was held on December 5, 2020 at Grace Bible Fellowship Church in Gunter, Texas with burial following at Whitaker Cemetery. The family requests donations be made to the Angel Tree Ministry at Grace Bible Fellowship Church in lieu of flowers. Bobby was born February 13, 1937 in Dallas, Texas, son of Levisty and Retta Hackler. He graduated from Carrolton High School in 1955 and received a teaching certificate from Texas A&M University. He married Shirley Dycus on March 1, 1965, with whom he remained married for 55 years, until his passing. They shared 2 children that they adored deeply: a son, Terry Lynn Hackler and daughter, Lisa Renee Hackler. Bobby was preceded in death by his parents; and his son. We know that he is rejoicing greatly in his reunion with his loved ones in Heaven. Bobby was a man like none other. Aside from his faith in Jesus Christ, his family was the most important thing to him. His children were the apple of his eye and his grandchildren were the light of his life. Althoug he loved to be a jokester when it came to his wife, Shirley, they shared a special and unbreakable bond. They truly loved each other through sickness and health and each challenge that life brought their way. Although this was Bobby's biological family, he truly treated everyone he met as though they were his own. Bobby was a fixer-upper, especially in the world of cars, as he pioneered his own business, Hackler Transmissions. Even in his sickness, there was not any mechanical problem that he could not solve. He was also a very giving man, with countless stories about how he went above and beyond to make sure others knew that they were cared for. Anyone who needed a nickel, he gave a dollar; anyone who needed an oil change got a transmission repair; anyone who needed a supporter got an extra father. Above all, he was a lover of Jesus Christ. He let the truth of Jesus' life and resurrection dwell in his heart deeply, and it very evidently affected the way that he lived. Bobby is survived by his wife; his brother, Billy Robinson; his daughter, Lisa Prosser; and his grandchildren: Jessica Hackler, Christopher Prosser (Alyssa); and Taylor Prosser. He leaves behind extended family who loved him as "Uncle Bobby" and countless others who saw him as a second dad or Papa. His loved ones will miss him dearly; but we find peace in the fact that he is in his Heavenly home walking with his Heavenly Father. "No one has ever seen God; but if we love one another, God lives in us and his love is made complete in us." 1 John 4:12 - - -Scoggins Funeral Home Whitaker Cemetery Susan Hawkins © 2024 If you find any of Grayson CountyTXGenWeb links inoperable, please send me a message. |
