  Cobi DeWitt Koonce was born July 16, 2002 in Farmers Branch, Texas, son of Randal "Randy" DeWitt Koonce and Rae Ann Pelt Koonce. Cobi was a wonderful big brother to his sister, Lexi Rae Koonce, and his brother, Levi Craig Koonce, whom he loved very much, and he was a fun partner in adventures (nefarious or otherwise) with his cousins. Cobi (Class of '21) attemded Gunter schools from Kindergarten through his senior year and was very involved in basketball (his absolute favorite sport) and cross country. His closest friends called him the "best" of best friends. Cobi passed from this life on May 18, 2021. He is survived by his parents; siblings, Lexi and Levi; his Poppa (Craig Pelt), his Mimi (Deborah Pelt); his Poppa, Randal Koonce; his Marmee (Betty Wilhite Koonce); his aunts and uncles, John Biggerstaff; Josh an d Kristi Johnston; Sam and Yvonne Parks; and Brian and Yvette Lewis; and his cousins, Gage Biggerstaff; Izabella Biggerstaff; Maci Johnston; Adelynn Johnston; Kate Parks, Abbey Parks, Jackson Lewis, and Edison Lewis. Funeral services were held at First Baptist Church, Gunter, on Tuesday morning, May 25, 2021 with graveside service to follow at Whitaker Cemetery in Gunter (weather permitting).
