 Iva
Wynall (McConnell) Jenkins, 85, of Howe, Texas passed away on Sunday,
March 28, 2021. She was born in Gunter, Texas March 19, 1936,
daughter of James Clinton McConnell, Sr. and Gazzie Camilla (Harmon)
McConnell. Iva was one of those very rare children you could
"talk Jesus and the Bible" with, without them looking at their watch or
rolling their eyes or suddenly needing to be anywhere but there.
She was quick to praise Him for all He had done, and He was doing
and all He was going to do. And she would shake her head at those
who refused to know or praise Him. She was a good, God fearing,
faithful, praying woman. She loved her family and friends and
they loved her. Iva is survived by her adopted granddaughter and loving caregiver, Katie Greenwood; 11 nephews, Kevin Price, Les McConnell, Perry McConnell, Tim Miller, Larry Miller, Dickie McConnell, Mark Stewart, David Stewart, Blake McConnell, Jerry McConnell, Alton McConnell; and 11 nieces, Karen Perkins; Kim Wade; Debbie Beck; Connie McConnell; Sherry Dillon; Paula Thoesen; Susan Emerson; Sue Lewis; Janis Hodges; Neva Groves; and Betty Barrett. Iva was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved sister and best friend, Nelda Price; brothers, Richard "Buster" McConnell; David H. McConnell; Kenneth McConnell; Clinton McConnell; Darron "Doc" McConnell; Joe McConnell; sisters, Elizabeth Stewart; Pauline Doggett; Ida Miller; and Joy McConnell; and nephews, Marshall McConnell and Robert McConnell. A funeral service was held Friday afternoon, April 2, 2021 at Scoggin Funeral Home in Van Alstyne, Texas. Pastor Raymond Horne officiated. Interment followed f or the family at Whitaker Cemetery, Gunter, Texas. Pallbearers were Les McConnell, Chance McConnell, Preston McConnell, Kerry Price, Zach Price, Nick Engelke, Hayden Engelke, and honorary pallbearer Kevin Price.
