GRAYSON PIONEER IS DEAD AT BELLS

Sherman, Texas, Dec. 31 - Funeral services for Newman McCollum, 76, who died at his home near Bells, Grayson County, Saturday, were held Sunday from the residence, conducted by the Rev. J.A. Henderson, Baptist county missionary.
Mr. McCollum is survived by his wife, Mrs. Jennie McCollum; one son, Humphrey McCollum of Slaton; and two daughters, Mrs. Mary Washburn of Bells and Mrs. Dellar Stone of Anton; seventeen grandchildren, two brothers, Joe McCollum of Frederick, Ok.; and Josh McCollum of Bells, and one sister, Miss Vashtie McCollum of Bells.
Mr. McCollum had lived near Bells for more than fifty-three years.  He was a member of the Baptist Church for forty years.
