September 6, 1934 L.C.H. (Haynes) Isom, 78, farmer, landowner and stockman of the Bethany community for 40 years, died suddenly at his home on route 1, Sherman, Wednesday at 8 p.m. following an attack of asthma of the heart. Funeral services will be held Friday at 3 p.m. at the family home, conducted by the Rev. C. Chumbley, Baptist preacher of Howe, and interment will be in Washburn cemetery east of Sherman, in charge of the Talley funeral home. Surviving Mr. Isom are his widow, Mrs. Lou Isom; three sons, Art Isom, Tupelo, Okla., and J.W. and A.D. Isom, Sherman; three daughters, Mrs. Hannah Adams, Trenton, Mrs. Lizzie Higginbotham, Sherman, and Mrs. Julia Archer, Tupelo, Okla.; six stepsons, Oscar Ellis, Spiro, Okla., Olen, Ray and Charles Ellis, Checotah, Okla., Grover Ellis, Eufaula, Okla., and Hugh Ellis, Kansas City, Kas. He also leaves several grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. Mr. Isom was born Feb. 12, 1856 in Tennessee, coming to Texas 40 years ago.
