Mauk, 86, died at the home of his son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. W.R. Vestal, at 7:30 a.m. Tuesday, following a two months illness. Funeral services were held at the home of Mr. a nd Mrs. Vestal at 4 p.m. Friday with Rev. W.W. Adcock, pastor of the First Methodist Church, in charge, assisted by Dr. J.F. Fender. Interment was at the City Cemetery, directed by Glen Earnheart. Mr. Mauk was born in Tennessee July 12, 1856. He was married to Miss Leona Mathews January 1, 1888. Mrs. Mauk died in 1927. He came to Texas 56 years ago and resided on a farm near Whitewright until 1901, when he moved to Whitewright. He was employed at the Cotton Belt station for a number of years. He was a member of the Methodist Church. Mr. Mauk is survived by one daughter, Mrs. W.R. Vestal; and two grandchildren, Paul Vestal of Dallas and Mrs. Mildred McCoy of Tennessee.
