AGED WOMAN BURIED HERE LAST SUNDAY
Mrs. Margaret L. Kirkpatrick died last Friday morning at the home of her daugher, Mrs. R.C. Medlin, at Howe.  The body was brought to Whitewright and funeral services held at the Presbyterian church here Saturday morning.  The services were conducted by Rev. J.F. Fender, assisted by Rev. W.A. Stuckey and Rev. R.A. Gay.  Interment was at the City Cemetery in east Whitewright.
Mrs. Kirkpatrick was born in Nelson County, Tennessee, April 26, 1833.  She was the daughter of a Presbyterian minister, and from her girlhood down to the ripe age of 91 years was a faithful Christian [sic].  Just as she was budding into womanhood she married F.E. Kirkpatrick with whome she lived happily until the breaking out of the Civil War when Mr. Kirkpatrick heard the call of his country and enlisted in the Confederate army and in 1863 made the supreme sacrifice on the field of battle, leaving his widow and 3 children to fight the battles of life without his help and counsel.
The surviving children are Henry Kirkpatrick, Mrs. R.C. Medlin of Howe; and Rev. W.A. Kirkpatrick of this city.
All who knew t his good woman bear testim ony to her christian [sic] character.  The world is better because she lived in it.
