Hollingsworth, 46, were held Sunday afternoon at the Methodist Church, conducted by Rev. Joe M. Connally, pastor, who was assisted by Rev. J.R. Waldrum of Nocona and Rev. Leslie O. Evans, pastor of the Baptist Church. Interment was in the City Cemetery, directed by R.R. Waldo. Pallbearers were Attorney General William McCraw of Austin, a wartime buddy of Mr. Hollingsworth; E.A. Murphy of Sherman; and Bonnie Janway, W.W. Newman, Henry Fillips and E.H. Hughes of Whitewright. Mr. Hollingsworth died at 1 a.m. Saturday at his home here after an illness of more than three months. He spent several weeks in the Veterans' hospital where he remained until about 10 days before his death. He was born February 12, 1891 at Albany, Kentucky, and came to Texas with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. D.A. Hollingsworth, at the age of 3. He was married to Miss Dovie Mae Painter September 12, 1931 at Whitewright. Mr. Hollingsworth was a member of the American Legion a nd the Forty-and-Eight Club, having served 2 years in the Army during the World War, in machine gun battalion of the 36th Division. Upon leaving the Army, he established a blacksmith shop here, later engaging in the power farming equipment business in connection with his blacksmith and welding business. Surviving are his wife; his father, D.A. Hollingsworth; a brother, J.W. Hollingsworth; and three sisters, Misses Mary and Estelle Hollingsworth, all of Whitewright; and Mrs. J.A. Titus of Denton. Out-of-town relatives and friends here to attend the funeral included Henry McAlister, Mrs. J.B. McAlister and children, and Mr. and Mrs. Collins of Sapulpa, Oklahoma; Mr. and Mrs. J.A. Titus and children, and Miss Litha Sue Hollingsworth of Denton; George Stockton, Ed Malone and Dr. J.L. Shelley of Howe; Mr. an d Mrs. Judge Jernigan and son, Elmer, of Bells; Mrs. Jack Vincent of Carrollton, A.E. Murphy of Sherman; W.R. Heatley of Greenville; Miss Betty Painter and Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Glenn of Wolf [sic] City; Mr. and Mrs. Charlie Smith and R.K. Smith of Sherman; and Attorney General Bill McCraw of Austin.
