Oder H. Crowell 1880 - 1934 The Whitewright Sun Friday, May 3, 1934 O.H. Crowell O.H. Crowell of Sherman, for many years a resident of Whitewright, died Friday nnight at Sherman. His death was caused by heart disease. Funeral services were held at the Central Christian Church here at 3 o'clock Sunday afternoon, conducted by Rev. G.C. Minor, pastor. Interment was in the City Cemetery. Mr. Crowell, who was 53 years old, was born October 1, 1881, at Chestnut Mound, Tennessee. He had lived in Whitewright most of his live, having been engaged in the transfer business here for many years. During the past two years he had lived at Dallas and with his daughter, Mrs. John H. Kerr, 926 Washington avenue, Sherman. Survivors include his wife; one daughter, Mrs. John H. Kerr of Sherman; two sons, Herman Crowell of Denison and Robert Crowell of Sherman; six brothers, Lee Crowell, Esker Crowell and Thurman Crowell, all of Chestnut Mount, Tennessee; Marvin Crowell of Castalian Springs, Tennessee; Benton Crowell of Birmingham, Alabama; and Ben Crowell of California; and one sister, Mrs.Acea Gann of Old Hickory, Tennessee. Robert Lee Crowell 30 March 1912 - 5 August 1950 Texas MM1 US Navy WWII The Bonham Daily Favorite Thursday, August 10, 1950 pg. 5 EX-WHITEWRIGHT RESIDENT DIES IN NAVAL HOSPITAL Whitewright - The body of Machinest First Class Robert Lee Crowell, husband of the former Miss Mary Studeville, was expected to be shipped Tuesday from Norfolk, Virginia, where he died Saturday in the Naval Hospital following a heart attack. Besides his wife, Crowell was also survived by a year-old son. Corwell was a veteran of almost 12 years Navy service. He was born at Hugo, Oklahoma, March 30, 1912, and moved with his parents thereafter to Whitewright, where he was reared. A brother, Herman Crowell, of Denison, and a sister, Mrs. John Kerr, of Sherman, also survive. Funeral services with a Sherman funeral home in charge, are incomplete.
