Thursday, September 6, 1923 pg. 1 The funeral service for Frank Coffman, who lost his life in a cotton warehouse at the Farmers Union Gin Wednesday last week, was held at the City Cemetery Friday afternoon at 5 o'clock. The funeral service was conducted by Rev. J.F. Fender and Rev. G.M. McNeilly. The burial service was in charge of the I.O.O. F. fraternity, of which order Mr. Coffman had been a faithful member for several years. Mr. Coffman was a member of the Baptist Church. He was a good citizen, true friend and a neighborly neighbor. A man can not have these good traits without being a good man. Those who knew Mr. Coffman best speak most highly of him. He lived the kind of life that he though he should live to be a true Christian, and served his Master the best he knew how. Rev. Fender, who had known the deceased for a number of years, paid a beautiful tribute to the life of Mr. Coffman in his talk at the graveside. The Whitewright Sun Thursday, September 18, 1947 pg. 3 Mrs. Margaret Coffman was born December 9, 1872, in Hamilton, Alabama. After her marriage to Frank Coffman, she and her husband moved to Parker County, Texas, about 1890 and later to Grayson County, settling in Whitewright. She passed away at the age of 75, on September 12, 1947. Funeral services were held at 4 p.m. Saturday at the First Presbyterian Church, conducted by the pastor, Rev. James I. Logan. Interment was in the City Cemetery under the direction of Glen Earnheart. For the past thirty years she had made her home in Whitewright, devoting her time not only to her family but also to the care of friends whom she held dear. As long as her health permitted she was a faithful member of the First Presbyterian Church of Whitewright. To her neighbors throughout the community she was a mother, giving to all her tender attention and comfort in times of need and despair. Her last years were devoted to the care of two of her grandchildren, Johnny Mack and Margaret Greer. She also cared for her brother-in-law, Will Coffman, who had been ill for some time. She is survived by two sisters, Mrs. J.R. Lovron and Mrs. Vistia Sanders, both of Alabama; seven children, T.W. Coffman, Lubbock; R.H. Coffman, Denison; W.L. Coffman, Fort Worth; R.F. Coffman, Dallas; Leon Coffman, Leonard; Mrs. Ophelia Lamb, Lubbock; Mrs. Mildred Young, Fort Worth; two brothers-in-law, Will Coffman of Whitewright and Jim Coffman; 19 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren. The Whitewright Sun Thursday, November 17, 1966 pg. 1 Raymond Franklin Coffman, 61, was found dead at his home in Dallas Friday. Funeral services were held at the Presbyterian Church here Sunday, conducted by Rev. C.C. Dooley. Burial was in the City Cemetery. Pallbearers were Joe Rich, Homer Sanderson, Orville Woodson, Hobart Thrasher, Lee Wilson and Leon Bennett. Mr. Coffman was born September 27, 1905, at Whitemound and grew up in Whitewright. Survivors are three brothers, Wesley Coffman of Lubbock, Roy Coffman of Denison and Leon Coffman of Leonard; two sisters, Mrs. Ophelia Lamb of Lubbock and Mrs. Mrs. Mildred Gorham of Fort Worth.
