The Whitewright Sun Thursday, June 9, 1927 pg. 1 Richard Lee Buried Here Saturday The body of Richard Lee, aged man who fell dead while working the field of J.H. Looney, north of town, Monday afternoon, June 6th, was buried at the City Cemetery Saturday morning at 10 o'clock. The body was prepared for burial by Lloyd Moore, funeral director, and relatives of the deceased notified of his sudden death. After sending a number of telegrams, Mr. Moore was instructed by a daughter of the deceased, Mrs. C.E. Anderson, Goree, Iowa, to make interment here. The funeral service was conducted by Rev. J.H . Hankins, pastor of the First Baptist Church, who made an impressive talk at the graveside. The deceased had been here only a few days, but those who associated with him during that time, say that he had the appearance of a gentleman and that he was a well-informed man. Editor's Note: His Texas Death Certificate notes his death date as May 30, 1927 and his burial in the Whitewright City Cemetery as June 4, 1927.
