The Whitewright Sun Thursday, July 23, 1931 pg. 5 The funeral service for J.H. Blincoe, 75, who died at 3:30 a.m. Wednesday was held at the late residence on Spruce street Wednesday afternoon at 4 o'clock. The service was conducted by Rev. Ray mond Pieper, Catholic priest of Sherman. The burial service was held at the City Cemetery. Mr. Blincoe came to Whitewright in 1901 from Ladonia. He was engaged in the cleaning and pressing business here for more than 20 years, and one time had the only business of the kind in Whitewright. For a number of years he enjoyed a good business, but was forced to discontinue it several years ago on account of his health. For the past two years he has been almost an invalid. Mr. Blincoe had many friends. He was kindhearted and jovial and enjo yed life until the infirmities of age made it impossible for him to earn a living. For the past year or more friends have seen to it that his home was provided with the necessities of life. When he was in his prime he was liberal in his donation of charity and to those in need. So the bread he cast upon the waters returned tenfold in his last days. The deceased is survived by his wife, who has been in poor health for a number of years; and two brothers and two sisters, F.M. Blincoe, Clarksville; B.J. Blincoe, Louisville, Kentucky; Mrs. M.L. O'Bryan, Owensboro, Kentucky; and Mrs. J.E. Payne, West Louisville, Kentucky. Several out-of-town relatives were present for the funeral service. The deceased was a member of the Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus. Editor's Note: His Texas Death Certificate indicates he was born in 1857 but his Kentucky birth record shows he was born in 1856.
