 The Whitewright Sun 8 April 1971 pg. 2 Services for Felix Owens, who died Monday in Plainview, were held Friday afternoon in Whitewright at the First Baptist church. Rev. Herman Woods officiated with burial in Whitewright under the direction of Grayson Funeral Home of Sherman. Mr. Owens was born December 5, 1911 in Marshall County, Oklahoma, son of Will and Millie Owens. He attended school in Marshall County and in 1933 was married to Miss Zella Garrett of Platter, Oklahoma. He moved to Whitewright in 1947 and later to Plainview. Survivors are his wife; 4 sons, Kenneth Owens of Sherman; Elmer, Phillip and Richard Owens, all of Whitewright; 6 daughters, Mrs. Lawrence Gentry, Mrs. Raymond Coney, Mrs. Willie Coleman and Mrs. Willie Ballard, all of Whitewright; Mrs. Booker T. Thacker of Bakersfield, California; and Mrs. Robert Sommers of San Antonio; 2 brothers; 5 sisters; 46 grandchildren; and 7 great-grandchildren.
