The Whitewright Sun Thursday, March 2, 1939 pg. 5 Funeral services for Mrs. Eliza Benedict Williams, 80, were held at the Earnheart funeral parlors at 11 a.m. Monday, conducted by Rev. L.O. Evans, pastor of the Baptist Church. Interment was in the City Cemetery. Pallbearers were R.A. Gillett, T.J. Lilley, R.C. Vestal, W.E. LaRoe, T.E. Barbee and J.M. Simmons. Mrs. Williams died Sat urday at her home in Kerrville. She was born August 28, 1858 at Woodburn, Kentucky, the daughter of Mr. an d Mrs. W.A. Benedict. She was married in Missouri in 1885 to W.J. Williams, who died in 1911 and was buried here. Mr. Williams operated a dray line in Whitewright and was also connected with L. LaRoe & Company here. Survivors include a brother, Harney Benedict, of Wichita, Kansas; a sister, Mrs. W.F. Holland of Dallas; and a number of nieces and nephews. Mr. Benedict was unable to attend the funeral because of illness.
