Mrs. Mattie Taylor
The funeral service for Mrs. Mattie Taylor, who died at the home of her sister, Mrs. W.B. Womack in Sulphur, Oklahoma Saturday evening was held at the City Cemetery Monday afternoon.  The service was in charge of Rev. W.H. Ackley, pastor of the First Baptist Church.
The deceased was the wife of the last W.J. Taylor, who was a citizen of Whitewright for a number of years before his death in 1912 .  After his death Mrs. Taylor moved to Sulphur to reside with her sister, Mrs. W.B. Womack.  Mrs. Taylor   was born near Greensbury, Kentucky in 1855.  She was married to W.J. Taylor October 3, 1889. They moved to Whitewright soon after their marriage.  She had been a member of the Baptist Church for many years and took an active part in church and Sunday school work.
The deceased is survived by one sister, Mrs. W.B. Womack of Sulphur, Oklahoma; a stepson, Embry Taylor of Dallas.  Mrs. H. Benedict of Whitewright was a cousin of the deceased.
Among the out-of-town relatives and friends here for the funeral service were: Mr. and Mrs. W.O. Womack and Embry Taylor, Dallas; R.M. Womack, Sulphur Springs, and Mrs. W.B. Womack, Sulphur, Oklahoma.
