Frank P. Phillips, 57, died suddenly at his home where Wednesday morning at 9:24.  He worked Tuesday but Wednesday he complained of feeling badly at the breakfast table. Soon thereafter he was stricken with a heart attack, which proved fatal.  He had suffered heart attacks for several years.
Mr. Phillips was born in Georgia, January 1, 1879, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Ben Phillips. He came to Texas in 1891, and had lived in and near Whitewright since 1901.  Mr. Phillips was a good man.  He was honest and fair in his dealings with his fellowman.  He was a hard worker and had a reputation of being one of the best farmers in this community.
Funeral services were held at the Methodist Church, of which he was a member, this afternoon at 3:30 o'clock.  The services were in charge of Rev. C.W. Dennis of Pecan Gap, former local pastor.  He was assisted by Rev. Joe M. Connally, pastor of the Methodist Church.  Interment was in the City Cemetery.  The active pallbearers were Kay and Claude Dillon, Walter Compton, J.L. England, John Vestal and Rollie Vestal.
Mr. Phillips is survived by his wife, Mrs. Mary Phillips; a son, Raymond Phillips of Oklahoma City; a daughter, Mrs. Lee Wilson of Whitewright; and six grandchildren.
