  Monroe J. Morris 17 September 1928 - 20 October 2008 Eva Sue Morris 9 March 1933 - 23 August 2014  SHERMAN - Monroe Joy Morris, formerly of Whitewright, passed away Monday, October 20, 2008 at his residence in Sherman. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, October 24, at Kentuckytown Baptist Church with Rev. Greg Allen and Rev. Rodney Stanford officiating. Burial will follow at Whitewright City Cemetery. Mr. Morris was born in September 17, 1928 in Trenton, son of Robert and Anna Mae Cooper Morris. On February 5, 1949 he married Eva Sue Smith in Trenton. Joy and his wife, Sue lived most of their lives in Whitewright before moving to Sherman. He retired from Grumman-Olsen Bodies after 22 years of service. He was a member and Deacon at Kentuckytown Baptist Church. Surviving are his wife, Sue Morris of Sherman; daughters, Teresa Morris of Sherman, Martha Wilkinson and husband, Jimmy, of Whitewright; Joyce Hart of Leonard, Vicki Melton and husband, Ricky of Anna; and Nancy Morris of Sherman; sons, Larry Morris and wife, Karen of Anna; Johnny Morris of Sherman and Michael Morris and wife, Jody of Orangeville; brothers and their wives, Billy Wayne and Patty Morris of Las Vegas, Nev.; Alton and Judy Morris of Bells; Terry and Donna Morris of Whitewright and Gary and Barbara Morris of Sherman; sisters, Margie Minchey and husband, Morris of Plano; Ann Mitchell and friend, Roy, of Sachse; Kathy Ball and husband, Ricky of Bonham; and Debbie Womack and husband, Cecil of Combine; 14 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; grandsons, Shawn Dale Morris and Chad Morris. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Kentuckytown Baptist Church, P.O. Box 723, Whitewright, TX 75491. Family night will be at Mullican-Little Funeral Home in Bells/ Savoy from 6-8 p.m. Thursday. Sherman, Texas -- Eva Sue Morris, 81, formerly of Whitewright, passed away Saturday morning, August 23, 2014 at Mullican Care Center in Savoy, Texas. She was born March 9, 1933 in Bells, Texas, the daughter of Raymond and Margaret Hansard Smith. Eva married Monroe Joy Morris on February, 5, 1949 in Trenton, Texas. Eva Sue is survived by her children Martha Wilkinson of Whitewright, Larry Morris of Anna, Joyce Howell of Leonard, Vicki Melton of Anna, Johnny Morris of Anna, Nancy Morris of Denison, Michael Morris of Whitewright and Teresa Morris of Sherman, 12 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sister and grandson. Eva was a very loving mom and grandmother. She was a member of Kentuckytown Baptist Church and retired from the Whitewright Nursing Home after 30 years of service. Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 26, 2014 at the Whitewright City Cemetery. Reverends Rodney Standford, Greg Allen and Houston Garner will officiate. The family will receive friends at Mullican-Little Funeral Home from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Monday, August 25, 2014.
