Susan Ann Medlin 1861 - 1926 Robert C. Medlin 1857 - 1931 The Whitewright Sun Thursday, March 12, 1931 pg. 1 Robert C. Medlin, 74, native Texan, died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Dick Calloway, near Howe, Tuesday night at 10 o'clock. The deceased was a son of the late Alfred Medlin, for whom the community of Medlintown, southeast of Whitewright, was named. His mother was Mrs. Margaret K. Sears Medlin. He was a brother-in-law of Rev. W.A. Kirkpatrick, pioneer citizen of Whitewright. Mr. Medlin was born at Medlintown, September 14, 1857. For a number of years, he resided at Leonard. Since the death of his wife several years ago, he has made his home with his children. He is survived by four sons, Sam, Ray, Carl and Robert; and two daughters, Mrs. Dick Calloway and Miss Iba Medlin. The funeral service was held at the Presbyterian Church at Howe, this afternoon, following which the body was brought to Whitewright City Cemetery.
