Sherman Daily Democrat Sunday, August 27, 1922 pg.8 THE WIFE OF J.E. BROWN DIES AT KENTUCKYTOWN Mrs. Arra Brown, wife of J.E. Brown, a well known resident of Kentuckytown, died at her home there Friday night at 10:55 o'clock after a short illness. Mrs. Brown, who was 69 years of age, had lived at Kentuckytown since she was a child. She was a native of Iowa. Funeral services were held from the Kentuckytown church Sunday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock, with interment in Vittitoe Cemetery. Services were conducted by Rev. I.E. Teague of Kentuckytown assisted by Rev. J.C. Skaggs of Sherman. Mrs. Brown through a long and unselfish life in the Kentuckytown community was known and beloved by a large number of friends to whom her death was a matter of sincere sorrow. She had lived a devout Christian life since early childhood. Besides her husband, Mrs. Brown is survived by 2 daughters, Miss Myrtle Brown of Sherman and Mrs. Oby Nelson of Frost, Texas; a sister, Mrs. Hattie Savage of Sherman; and 2 brothers, John Dyer of Sherman and Will Dyer of Durant, Oklahoma. Brown, 75 years old, a resident of Kentucky town for fifty years died in Frost, Texas, Tuesday. Mr. Brown went to Frost about a year ago to make his home with a daughter, Mrs. Obe Nelson. His wife died at Kentuckytown two years ago. Besides this daughter he is survived by another, Miss Myrtle Brown of Sherman. The body will be brought to Sherman, arriving Wednesday night over the Frisco. it will be taken to Kentuckytown for burial. Funeral services will be held at 5 o'clock from the Baptist Church at Kentuckytown and burial will be in the cemetery there.
