Tom Bean - Funeral services for Lonnie Morris Jones were held Saturday morning, February 20, 2021 at Waldo Funeral Home. Burial followed at Vittitoe Cemetery.  Mr. Jones, 75, passed away Monday, February 15, 2021.
Lonnie was born October 22, 1945 in Greenville, Alabama, son of Lonnie and Lois Murrell Jones.  He served in the US Marine Corps from 1965 to 1967.  On August 9, 1969 he and Carol Whitaker were married in Benton Harbor, Michigan.
Lonnie worked as a construction superintendent for many years.  In retirement he operated Lonnie's Handyman Service and served on the Tom Bean City Council and Tom Bean P&Z.  He enjoyed fishing, eating and raising and showing Appaloosas.  He was also active in local car shows and enjoyed showing his Corvett.
Mr. Jones was especially proud of his grandkids and rarely missed one of their games or activities.  
He is survived by his wife of Tom Bean; daughter, Shawn White, of Sherman; son, Brian Jones and wife, Lori, of Whitewright; 3 grandchildren, Payton, Austin and Jacie Jones; and sister, Barbara Tokartz of Michigan.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Richard Jones; and son-in-law, Artie White. - - -Waldo Funeral Home
