Ballard, 73-year-old Bells resident, died Monday, April 5, 2010 at Mullican Care Center in Savoy. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, April 8 at Mullican-Little Funeral Chapel in Bells/ Savoy. Officiating will be Rev. Bill Neal Jr., pastor of the First Baptist Church of Bells. Burial will follow at Vittitoe Cemetery in Whitewright. Mr. Ballard was born on Oct. 2, 1936 in Whitewright,, the son of Virgil and Beulah Burchfield Ballard. He was a 1955 graduate of Savoy High School. He married June Norman on Aug. 10, 1957 in Tom Bean. Charles was a retired truck driver and a member of First Baptist Church of Bells. Pallbearers will be Troyce Walt, Jim Williams, Joe Witherspoon, Bruce Neal, Sam Ereckson and Brent Shults. Surviving are his wife, June of Bells; son, Mark Ballard and best friend, Vickie Meade of Denison; son, Steve Ballard and wife Marsha of Troup; brother, Ralph Ballard and wife Carolyn of Savoy; sister-in-law, Pat Norman of Sherman; grandchildren, Shaw and Jessica Ballard, Christopher and Jessica Ballard, Brianna Blayne and Stacey Ballard; great-grandchildren, Stormie, Chloe and Lillian Ballard; and numerous nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Building Fund, First Baptist Church, 105 S. Pecan, Bells, TX 75414.
